The events
of 2011 still keep in awe the population of Zhanaozen(a city on the west of
Kazakhstan). Recently I’ve seen a documental film narrating the life of those
who then rebelled against the negligent treatment of employers, and of their
relatives. To tell the truth, I stand aghast at what’s been shown. People’s
rights were overridden, their money was detained, the hunger strike was extremely
cruelly suppressed without even listening to what those people demanded. And,
really, what did they demand? Just a fair treatment from the side of their
employers in the face of several oil companies who dishonestly cleaned out
their poor employees working 24/7 trying to feed their families. Nowadays many
of those people are killed, the rest are afraid of speaking avoiding the same
destiny. What can they do if their advocates were either killed or locked up?( take
for example the case of Natalya Sokolova, condemned for 8 years) The affair was
hushed up. After such a practice, what justice and democracy we’re talking
about?!

Let me
begin by telling you I’m not a feminist. Neither am I the preacher of feminism with its
often shocking claims( such as men discriminate women by making them pregnant,
so all women of the world should unite under the policy of aborts), nor am I totally
against it( because in many corners of the world the rights of women are defied
and feminist organizations struggle with this occurrence). But the other day I’ve
come across an article narrating the flagrant treatment of women in the Indian
society and it stunned me.
Having read
that article, I’ve surfed on the Internet in search of further information and
followed a dozen links. In general, all of them tell one and the same: In India,
bearing a baby girl is undesirable. That is the way of India that a woman is
thought to be a burden for her father, at first, then, for her husband because
they need to provide her with food and clothes all her life. For all that, the Indian society disdains
those women who work because, according to its principles, a woman mustn’t
work. Nonsense! Where is the logic?! Firstly they complain that a woman is a
burden, and then say she can’t work to fend for herself. I don’t mind the
tradition saying that women are responsible for the household and coziness at
home, that they are, in the first place, mothers, but discrimination on the
racial factor in modern times is inadmissible. In accordance with the
constitution of India, women are equal with men, but in reality it’s the same
as with the caste although, according to the same constitution, all citizens
are equal. In practice, women are a lot worse educated or uneducated at all,
have little or no influence in politics, and what is horrible, criminal acts
committed on women, such as robbery, beating or rape aren’t often investigated.
So, dear feminist organizations, this is where you need to work in order to
protect the abject and offended!

One of
the most highly contentious requests of the present covering not only the main
3 parties to the issue but the whole international community. If it’s approved,
on the one hand, we get 2 sides satisfied, one left with nothing and the space
for diplomacy ricocheted. Should it be denied, I expect, the wave of perturbations
isn’t going to be so powerful as in the reverse case.
Yes, now we
are talking about the scandalous triangle in the face of Ukraine, Russia and Crimea.
In the light of recent events taking place in Ukraine, the Crimean authorities
took the decision to withdraw the Crimean autonomy from Ukraine and at the same
time petitioned the entrance to the Russian Federation. Now Crimea is occupied
by numerous Russian military troops, there were cases of attacks on Ukrainian
officers and still, paradoxically, the Russian authorities deny the presence of
these troops.
I just
want to say that if Crimea joins Russian, then the stability across the globe
will reel, the whole world order in the near term will result in chaos. Because
can we talk about any diplomacy observing how one country, in fact, invades
another and takes a part of it? The referendum which will determine the fate of
Crimea is taking place on March 16, so, they still have time to do the right
thing.

Numerous protests
have been raised by prisoners at the US military detention centre at Guantanamo
Bay. Over a 100 inmates went on a hunger strike against the brutal treatment
and indefinite confinement. These protests rapidly gained media’s attention. Prison
authorities responded to the strike by restraining the inmates in a feeding
chair with their arms, legs and head strapped to it until the food digested
properly.
Though internationally
it’s a duty to respect the protest and the strikers’ decision not to eat
anything, the American policy directs force feeding the prisoners for the own ‘safety
and welfare”. President Barack Obama has defended this practice at Guantanamo,
telling a news conference last year, “I don’t want these individuals to die”.
As for me,
I stand for the right of the prisoners in this very case. I don’t know what the situation at Guantanamo
prison is, have no idea about their treatment. But if the government goes against
the right to go on a strike, it automatically blocks the inmates’ all other
rights, in fact, the people are treated like animals having no ability to speak
and to be heard. And this is all despite
the fact that their wines, in many cases, have not been proven…
As of now,
155 detainees remain at Guantanamo but the current number of strikers is
unknown. The prison authorities stopped disclosing the details of the protest
last December, saying it’s no longer in their interest to publicly release the
information. However, according to some hidden sources, at the latest count, 17
of the strikers continue to be force-fed.

Christian Karembeu is a French footballer, a European champion, taking the third place among the best players of the xx century on Oceania. At first sight, an ordinary star who is respected by millions of fans...
But there
is a very interesting thing about him – although being a French footballer, he
never sang the French national anthem - La Marseillaise. He did so in memory of
his great-grandpaexhibited at the Human Colonial Exhibition in a
Paris museum in 1931.
Human Zoo -
once a common form of entertainment in the West for the general public in the
XIX - early XX century, whose purpose was to demonstrate immigrants from Asia
and Africa in the natural and sometimes primitive savage form and also those
people who had physical abnormalities. Similar zoos pronounced racist
overtones, exhibiting those people next to the monkeys to show their common
origin.
Today, Jardin d'Agronomie Tropicale is seen as a stain in the history of France. But then more than 35,000 men, women and children were brought as exhibits in human zoos, most of them – against their will.
Five Indians kidnapped from Chile in 1881 and exhibited in the human zoo. Died after a year in Europe.
Ota Benga, a pygmy from the valley of the Congo. In 1916, unable to return to his native Congo, he shot himself.

Labrador Eskimos family. In the course of five
months they all died of smallpox, to which they had no immunity. Abraham
Ulrikab had a diary in which he described all the humiliations his family had
experienced from the missioners.
Sarah Baartman
The fact that she had
protruding buttocks and society view her as this “wild or savage female”. She
was then considered to be part of the "Negro race," which at the time
was considered the lowest race of humans. She was sometimes likened to an
orangutan instead.
It’s said for the nowadays European liberals to admit their grandfathers
and fathers willingly made money on human suffering. The last human exhibit
disappeared from European zoo only in 1935 in Basel and in 1936 in Turin. But
the last "temporary exhibition" with blacks was in 1958 in Brussels
at the Expo, where the Belgians introduced "Congolese village with its
residents." Such a cavalier
violation of international human rights! So cruel and inhumane that I even have no words to say anything…

One factor. 2 nations. No similarity.
It has turned into one of the most important, if not the principal, factor of the global and regional geopolitics, the subject of great debates among countries who possess it and those experiencing deficits. In the modern globalizing world, this interconnection between it and geopolitics is rising.
As we know, previously, it was the military power to establish the framework of the character of international relations. Later, the role of religion was regarded as a determining factor. Nowadays it’s oil that plays first fiddle.
One would say governments rich in oil can be sure that their country is going to prosper in the course of the 21st century. “No! “, I would tell you. Why? Just because my country is an object lesson of the falsity of that statement.
The government always tells people that the Norwegian experience was taken as the basis for the development of the oil sector of our country. Without any comparative analyses, schemes and numbers I can tell you either they work insufficiently or simply almost all revenue from oil export goes into the pockets of senior officials. Why such a conclusion? Do you observe totally free and yet highly qualified public service here in Kazakhstan, is the level of unemployment at its minimum, can the average salary be compared to that of Norway? By no means, I think. We are not a poor country, but we could be a rich one. Should all revenue be nationalized, we could be. If only Kazakhstan weren’t that corrupted, if only…

An odious bluffer, an international superhero or a masterly performing actor hired by an ill-wisher?
June 9,
2013. At first glance, it would seem as just another date talking of nothing, simply
a thin leaf torn from a thick calendar directory. The same world with the same
ordinary routine, people hurrying hither and thither, hustling, pushing each
other in crowded buses, others tediously waiting to advance for another scanty
distance in traffic jams. If photographers all around the world were to capture
the life of their cities that morning, there would be the same picture with the
scenery taken as a constant and only faces varying. However, all population of
the planet got united under an unprecedented unique news, having flown around
the globe in a couple of minutes right after someone, having introduced himself
as Mr. Edward Snowden, announced that “The Big Brother” in the face of the
United States accompanied by the United Kingdom watch nearly every step of
every civilian an almost every state via the Internet and mobile phones, the
two things all use. Impossible! All the basic legal rights are sent to hell by
2 governments positioning themselves as the most democratic of all times and nations?
Of course,
today each of us is aware of who Edward Snowden is. An American computer specialist, a former
Central Intelligence Agency employee, and former National Security Agency
contractor who disclosed top secret NSA documents to several media outlets,
initiating the NSA leaks, which reveal operational details of a global
surveillance apparatus run by the NSA. A
series of exposés beginning June 5, 2013 revealed Internet surveillance
programs such as PRISM, XKeyscore and Tempora, as well as the interception of
US and European telephone metadata. What does this mean? Listen further: Facebook,
Twitter, Google Maps and … attention, please… Angry Birds app steal your
personal data and go to one source. Nowadays we know this thanks to one man. How
do you think, what if one day this information is stolen by terrorists? What the
world risks? Why today this man is constantly threatened by death and forced to
search for asylums? Maybe all he’s said is the truth which hurts the plans of
certain people. ..And now it’s your turn to decide who Edward Snowden is: аn
odious bluffer, an international superhero or a masterly performing actor hired
by an ill-wisher?
